Playing with plasticine

There are so many elements to pay attention to when needle felting that it becomes easy to become overwhelmed. I often get stuck myself, especially when sculpting the line of the cheeks.

What I find immensely helpful is plasticine. It is perfect for practicing sculpting (it was actually created by an English art teacher who wanted a non-drying clay for his sculpture students that would be soft, malleable and would not dry when exposed to air).

I usually borrow the plasticine from my daughters (though I have to say that I also have some “personal stock” in my atelier).
