ABOUT ATELIER BLASSON DOLLS
My work is inspired by my children and by nature, particularly forests and flowers. This is also perhaps why Atelier Blasson dolls like to wear clothes with floral patterns and embroidery. In terms of colour palette, I usually work a lot with shades of rose, fuchsia, green and blue. Each doll born in my atelier is unique and made entirely from natural materials. All dolls travels to their new home with at least one set of clothes, a beautiful hairdo and a booklet containing care instructions. Apart from “classic” dolls, I also create art objects related to dolls. These include mainly doll sculptures.
Due to safety regulations my dolls are intended as decorative items only and are not suitable for children or babies.
Since 2020, I’m working mainly on projects related to natural fibre art dolls or doll sculptures. I also occasionally create classic Waldorf dolls. Please have a look at the photos below, they will give you an idea of how these two types of dolls are made.
Waldorf doll – the facial features of a Waldorf doll are intentionally minimal – usually limited to embroidered round eyes and a thin line for the mouth – or they may have no facial features at all.
Natural fibre art doll (also called Waldorf-inspired dolls) and doll sculptures – these types of dolls require more time to make since they have an artistic facial expression. Their heads are made using needle felting technique, and their faces are fully sculptured. This doubles (if not triples) the volume of work compared to classic Waldorf dolls. The body and limbs are also often needle felted. The fibres used for the hair are usually more delicate (e.g. much more expensive natural animal locks) and hand-sewn to the head. Natural fibre art dolls and doll sculptures are made for collectors (adults).
what are the prices of the dolls?
The prices for natural fibre art dolls start at 280 EUR (plus shipping costs).

In parallel, I also accept orders for custom-made dolls. If you would like me to make a doll for you, you are welcome to contact me via ewa@atelierblasson.be so that we can discuss the details.
I would like to make a doll myself
If the price of a doll exceeds your budget, no need to worry. You can also make a doll yourself! I would be happy to refer you to reliable resources and tutorials. Please get in touch, if you would like to know more.
